There aren't that many children's books about STRAIGHT relationships that aren't completely platonic, why would they have a children's book about gay penguins? It seems more that the gay part is getting jammed in uncomfortably (that's what he said).

Actually, humans are the only species that sometimes does it for reasons OTHER than pleasure. When animals mate, all they're thinking of is "this feels good". Humans are the only animals that (as far as we know) ever plan for pregnancy. I'm not sure where that "only humans and dolphins" idea came from. It's true that, in most animals, the desire for sex usually correlates to fertility, but humans and dolphins aren't the only species that mate when not currently fertile.
